En Block and Mastopexy Implant Removal
This 61-year-old patient had breast implants placed at the age of 36. After 16 years, she had them removed and replaced with a similar size to her original implants, which were textured silicone gel with a volume around 500 cc. After experiencing a rock-hard capsular contracture on her right breast and experiencing symptoms associated with BII (Breast Implant Illness) she consulted with Dr. Leonard about permanent implant removal. He recommended an en bloc implant removal where the capsule is removed whole while still containing the implant. She also had a breast lift to maximize her remaining breast tissue. While she was happy with her results, she does miss her breast volume.
