En Block Implant Removal

Having saline breast implants placed over 40 years ago, this 70-year-old patient began developing pain in her breasts along with general symptoms she felt were related to the implants. She had been evaluated medically for her symptoms with no diagnosis. She was interested in permanent implant removal, and Dr. Leonard recommended an en bloc. This procedure removes the capsule and the implant as a whole. She returned for her final follow up and told Dr. Leonard that all of her symptoms were gone fairly quickly after surgery, and over time they have virtually disappeared. She was incredibly happy with her results.
