Tram Flap

Having been treated for right breast cancer with a mastectomy, this 50 year old woman came in for a consultation with Dr. Leonard because she was not happy with her final results after her mastectomy and was having trouble with wearing an external prosthesis. She was happy with her left breast and didn’t want surgery on that side. Dr. Leonard’s recommendation was to do a TRAM flap reconstruction, taking skin and fatty tissue from her abdomen and recreating her right breast. The next stage in her reconstructive process was sculpting the right breast using liposuction and nipple reconstruction. The final touch was tattooing her right nipple. She is quite pleased with her natural, soft breast which is symmetrical with her left breast.
